KHAILA & RHYS

Ooooo.. there's nothing I love more than being in on a "secret wedding"! These two country kids told NO ONE except their immediate families that they were planning on FINALLY tying the knot after nine years together.

Only myself and the gorgeous Celebrant, Kathy from Just Love and Scribbles were "in the know"!

And will you check out how stunning Khalia looked - having only had Jayden weeks before!! I remember not being fit for public consumption that close after the arrival of my first-born, let alone a wedding! Khalia - kudos to you!!!!

Khalia shared some words with us about their stunning farm wedding.

How did you two meet?

Rhys proposed at 5am in bed on the morning of my 28th birthday in 2019. We met at a motorbike race in 2011. I had gone to watch my dad and brother race. It’s great that Rhys, my dad & brother all have a common interest in motorbikes.

Tell us about your day.

Got married in bushland on the family farm near where we built our forever home and will spend our lives!
I recently lost 3 of my grandparents in the space of 6 months and Rhys lost his Nanna 2 years prior so it was important for us to acknowledge them all on our day by having their photos on display. This was our way of having them there.
Also I was given a ring by my mum which was given to her by her mum on her wedding day. The ring was pinned to my bouquet.

What was your most memorable moment of your wedding day?

Walking down the aisle to Jayden screaming.... it wasn’t ideal but we will never forget it!

Which was your favourite photo?

The photo of me kissing Jaydens head while Rhys touches his face.... it don’t think we knew the photo was being taken as it was so natural and is just us!
Also love the group photo as it shows just how happy everyone was!

Tell us about your honeymoon

Will take a few weeks away in June next year and head up to Alice Springs for the Finke Desert Race (motorbikes) with both our families.

What one wedding planning tip would you give other brides/couples?

Don't worry about what other people may think about how you’ve done things! It’s your day, so do what makes you happy!
